Aztlan is the Aztec name for their ancestral place of origin
located according to an old legend somewhere in the middle of
the Atlantic ocean. This corresponds both linguistically and geographically
to Atlantis as described in Plato's works Critias and Timaeus.
The whole work unfolds both rhythmically and pitch-wise out of
a single note and its higher partials, and into a series of diverse
images, which at the formal level evoke this legend in a quasi-programmatic
way.
